Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell -Amazon    Goodreads

Two misfits.
One extraordinary love.

Eleanor… Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough…Eleanor.

Park… He knows she’ll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There’s a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises…Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. ( as seen in Goodreads)

I have been putting this review off for a while now as I loved the book so much but could never find the exact words to express to you all how brilliant this book is, but I’ve decided to give it ago today as you all need to here about it.

Everyone, and I mean everyone can relate to this book in some way, it’s the tale of first love, a real love, not one of the unrealistic ridiculous love stories that are out there but the tale of truly  falling in love for the first time. It is a book that although it is classed as Young Adult, I  think people of all ages (excluding youngsters as it is a coming of age tale) will thoroughly enjoy. There are a few hard-hitting scary topics in the book but overall it is an uplifting great book to read.

Once again Rainbow Rowell has wowed me with her beautiful writing style, in this book we witness this story through both the main characters Eleanor and Park’s  perspectives in a clever and effective point of view switch, that I feel really brings this story to the next level.

Recommendation: Highly Recommend 5/5

Book Hangover level: Need More 4/6
